Why Sell Popcorn?Popcorn sales is the primary source of income for Pack 1783. The dues that are paid when a scout joins the pack, or when they renew in January go to the Circle 10 Council and BSA, and pay for the Boy's Life magazine if ordered. So, selling popcorn is necessary for our Pack to function. Funds from popcorn sales pay for leader training and materials, recognition (beltloops, patches, etc.), and helps to defray the cost of our Blue and Gold Banquet in February. As our pack grows, hopefully we can use funds to help defray other costs. The popcorn selections my vary slightly, but costs should be the same except that the purchaser has to pay for shipping the popcorn. Note that as of 2010 we don't use popcorn tins anymore. Popcorn now comes in heavy, resealable plastic bags. So, you're not paying for shipping the tin can, just the popcorn.Selling door to door is still the best method for popcorn sales.
